Data and information systems are a vital part of military operations. Project Overmatch is the United States Navy upcoming initiative to connect networks and IT systems for future maritime operations.
Several networks under the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, and Naval Information Warfare Systems Command have been transferred to Project Overmatch. These include warfighting networks for unmanned systems and long-range fires. The purpose is to unify data, infrastructure, and tools to increase warfighter readiness in a secure network environment.
All science and technology initiatives related to naval war-fighting networks and advanced data structures will now fall under Project Overmatch, similar to the United States Army and Airforce projects, Project Convergence and Advanced Battle Management System. What types of contracts do you think will be connected to Project Overmatch in the next 5 years?
